As the sun rises high into the sky,
My world is shadowed in darkness,
Each day passes slowly and the same
Naught but an empty shell walking the ground.

In the distance there is laughter and fun
But in my heart there is crying and sorrow
My depression is too deep to penetrate.
My happiness has sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

Sharks rip me causing wounds deeper in my heart
As I fight to reach some sort of light
The need for air, for safety keeps me from my goal
I have not the strength to fight anymore.

As darkness falls plunging us into night
A gentle glow inside drives me to try
Tiny bubbles of light break the surface
Making my will grow strong

But soon they fade and disappear
With the rising of the sun
My pain begins once more
Until my empty shell returns encompassing me
